The scene: With a table stretching from Swinton Avenue to U.S. 1 along Atlantic Avenue in the heart of downtown Delray Beach, guests will dine on four courses from 14 of the city’s most popular restaurants under a star-filled spring night.

Savor the Avenue is returning for the 12th time after being delayed last year by the COVID-19 shutdown. Making outdoor dining a must-do long before the pandemic, the event from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Monday, April 19 (rain date is April 20) will be modified to follow safety protocols with fewer seats for each restaurant, temperature checks, face coverings required when not seated and personal bottles of hand sanitizer.

Menus are available at DowntownDelrayBeach.com/SavortheAvenue and tickets may be reserved through each restaurant. Note: Some restaurants are already sold out.

A portion of ticket sales will benefit Community Greening, a Delray Beach-based nonprofit run by Matt Shipley and Mark Cassini that is dedicated to planting trees and protecting green spaces. It provides free native trees and certain fruit trees to eligible groups and neighborhoods by taking on the site and species selection and making sure permits are in place while providing the tools needed for planting.

Created and produced by the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority, in partnership with Delray magazine and Boca magazine, this year’s participating restaurants include Avalon Steak & SeafoodElisabetta’s RistoranteCabana El ReyRocco’s Tacos & TequilaRose’s Daughter/Brulé BistroRacks Fish House & Oyster Bar/Gary Rack’s Farmhouse KitchenCity Oyster & Sushi BarVic & Angelo’sLionfishJohnnie Brown’sCaffe Luna RosaChe!!!Death or Glory and Lemongrass Asian Bistro.

Guests can arrive early to walk the avenue and take in the table settings and themes as the restaurants compete for Best in Show table.
