The Palm Beach Post – Take a look at new Delray hotel project, The Ray
By The Palm Beach Post
The project’s developer, Developer Menin, said the Ray’s design is “Tropical Modernism.” The project comes amid a spike in hotel construction with an emphasis on themed and boutique developments.
Menin Development broke ground on a new hotel in Delray Beach Wednesday morning.
The hotel, the Ray, is expected to be completed in May 2021. The project comes amid a spike in hotel and lodging construction in Palm Beach County, with an emphasis on themed and boutique developments.
The 141-room Ray falls in line with that trend. Developer Menin said it is being design is “Tropical Modernism” and features “oversized” rooms and a 20,000 square foot rooftop pool deck. The project also includes a private event space for up to 300 hosted in a “floating” glass cube, large-scale sculptures and art installations plus two floors of underground parking.
The Ray’s dining amenities will also include a restaurant by Japanese chef signature Akira Back.
The hotel will be operated by Hilton under it’s Curio brand.
“The Ray was conceived to fill a void in Palm Beach County. It will be a highly designed lifestyle boutique hotel with a heavy food and beverage component, but will also have an affiliation with Hilton as part of its Curio program,” said Craig Menin of Menin Development Inc. in a statement. “We have brought together a group of designers from around the world and the end product will be something that is normally found only in major cities, with bars, restaurants, event spaces, public art and 141 rooms and suites.”
