Dennis Max

After graduating from University of California, Berkeley, Dennis Max was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968. He served his duty in Heidelberg, Germany and was honorably discharged in 1970. Max began his hospitality career with Victoria Station Restaurant Company in 1970. When Dennis left Victoria Station in 1977, he was the Regional Director of the East Coast with 50 restaurants under his control. Max moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1978 and has since developed, owned, and operated over 50 restaurants mostly in the state. Max is credited with bringing New American cuisine to Florida with restaurants such as Café Max, Max’s Place, Prezzo, and Max’s Harvest.
