A 150,000-square-foot food hall focused on food and art will open this spring in Delray Beach less than a block south of Atlantic Avenue. The Menin Development Delray Beach Market will include specialty food purveyors, chef-led restaurant concepts and food incubators, as well as a beverage program, curated art and food exhibitions and live music shows, culinary schooling, celebrity activations and other events, a news release said.
Delray Beach Market will be the largest food hall ever to break ground in Florida and the very first in Delray.
"It's been years in development and it's finally here, ready to be revealed and to play host the nearly 3 million annual visitors to Delray Beach," Jordana L. Jariura, Menin Development president and general counsel said in the release, quoting information from the area's Downtown Development Authority. "We've worked hard to analyze and forecast what Delray Beach locals were missing and what our friends from around Florida and the country would love to patronize in a new model food hall, and placed it all within this single destination for food lovers to enjoy."
The four-story structure will feature more than 25 local and regional eateries with a rotating lineup of smaller artisan vendor pop-ups throughout. It is expected to see about 2,000 visitors daily, the release said.
Opportunities for public gatherings through creative food museum exhibits, collaborations with food artists, celebrity culinary demonstrations and family events will take place in the hall as well.
"Delray Beach Market will be as much about supporting up and coming chefs as it will be to housing experienced concepts ranging from eclectic to fast-casual and fine dining," Andy Masi, Clique Hospitality founder and CEO, whose team is managing the facility, said in the release. "The market presents the perfect ecosystem for operators hard-pressed to congregate together in a communal dining experience, with easy financial access and built-in customers."
Construction on the food emporium began in November 2019 and includes 60,000 square feet of hospitality vendors anchored amidst a backdrop of large format interactive murals and sculptures by world-renowned artists, as well as a 220-car garage, indoor and outdoor seating and dedicated takeout/pick-up spots.
Some of the restaurants include pasta house, Sorella's, as well as boozy ice cream shop, Bona Bona, and Indian QSR, Tiffin Box.
A hard opening date for the facility was not provided.
