Menin Development Appoints Food Expert, Ted Spitzer from Market Ventures Inc. to Consult for Their Delray City Market Food Hall
Ted Spitzer is a food guru, partner at Market Ventures, Inc. a specialty urban planning and economic development firm that assists public, non-profit, and for-profit clients with planning, creating, and managing innovative food-based projects and programs. They have particular expertise in public markets and farmers’ markets, where we blend cutting edge business practices with a thorough understanding of and appreciation for the unique challenges facing local farmers and small businesses. Their work includes both retail and wholesale markets, including the emerging concept of “food hubs.”
Some of their significant projects include: Detroit’s Eastern Market, the Hartford Regional Market, the Western North Carolina Farmers’ Market in Asheville, the Rochester Public Market, the South Carolina State Farmers’ Market in Columbia, The Milwaukee Public Market and the Grand Rapids Downtown Market. The Downtown Market is a 2015 recipient of the Rudy Bruner Award for Urban Excellence and won the American Planning Association’s Excellence in Economic Development Planning Award. Most recently, Ted led the master planning effort for historic Lexington Market in downtown Baltimore.
